A delegation led by Shri Gora Lotak, former Councillor of Ward No 18, Itanagar Municipal Council called on the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.) at Raj Bhavan, Itanagar on 12th July 2018.
Interacting with the delegation, the Governor emphasised that the councillors of Municipal Councils should take initiative and necessary action for maintaining upmost cleanliness in the residential areas as well as in the public places.
The Governor said that as Raj Bhavan is located in Ward No. 18, it must be a model Ward in cleanliness. It should be the Ward sending out messages of “Swachhta / Cleanliness’ to the people of the Capital city and the State. The healthy environment and recreation facilities, like Raj Bhavan Parks, must be maintained and utilized in correct manner, he added.
The Governor also called upon the former Councillors and the Ward members of Municipal Councils to motivated and assist in sending every child above the age of six years to school in their respective wards. He emphasised that to achieve 100% literacy, every child of today must go to school.
The former councillor and Ward members, present in the meeting assured the Governor to do their best in cleanliness and education in the Ward No. 18.
